Chad Shafer, DPT, CSCS
Chad Shafer received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2011 from Western Michigan University and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015 from the University of Michigan. He specializes in orthopedic practice and low back and neck pain. Along with his physical therapy education he is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credentialed through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
As a spine specialist, Chad is currently perusing his MDT certification through the McKenzie institute to further his expertise within the realm of spinal care. Chad takes an eclectic approach to patient care while utilizing advanced manual therapy, muscle energy techniques, along with designing creative and effective exercises plans for his patients. His current professional interests include low back and neck pain, sports medicine, and general orthopedics. His current research background includes two studies which examine the effect of muscle energy techniques and eccentric exercise in the young adult population.
Chad enjoys weightlifting, running, reading, learning, backpacking, and spending time with his supportive friends and family.
